Will this fit my car?
I have the single-din BOSE...I know that a 4th gen BOSE HU will fit(change the harness). I just don't know if this will fit...help! I don't think it's from a Maxima...that's why I'm worried if it will fit or not. :P

I don't think the radio is a Bose radio. 1) There's no Bose label on it anywhere, and 2) the description lists a *Clarion* part number. It looks like a base radio from a Maxima, but it is my understanding that *nothing* works with Bose factory equipment except for other Bose factory pieces, i.e. the head unit would not work with your existing Bose speakers. My $.02
hey, I'm a car audio dealer, and here's my two cents ;p
BOSE sucks, all it wil ldo is cause you problems when you upgrade speakers, amps, etc.
now, you have a single-DIN unit, that unit is NOT single-din, it's a dionsaur, and double-din.
se_rious97 was right that nothing works with bose, but you can buy an adapter for about $50.00 that integrates your headunit with your factory speakers and amps. BUT, the power from those amps is not a lot, new headunits, even cheap ones put out cleaner power, and MORE power than the bose amps.
if I were you, I'd buy a harness and a new headunit..because all bose has done me is cause truolbe ;p

BOSE
Now that you mention it, it doesn't say BOSE does it? Either way, that is identical to the factory radio from my 97 SE. BUT regardless, the radios are not BOSE, they are Clarion, and the amps and speakers are BOSE.
I recommend the adapter and a new head unit. Crutchfield has the integrated adapter for $49.95 and you can get a great CD for around $225.

the adapter from crutchfield is a piece or ****. the adjusters will wear out after turning them too many times when adjusting the sound coming out of each speaker. after a while the sound is unequal between all the speakers. i just replaced everything in my maxi. headunit, speakers and all.

[/I][/QUOTE]correct..Bose does NOT make headunits. Clarion made the head unit to Bose's specs on the speakers. Bose only makes the speakers and amps in the car.

OK, fair enough. The point I was trying to make is this: the radio being auctioned has no Bose markings whatsoever, so it is not going to be compatible with any Nissan-Bose factory equipment. I notice the wire harness plug-ins on the back of the radio are standard Nissan harnesses. Does anyone know if the Bose-specific head units have their own specific plug-ins so a "regular" Nissan radio can't accidentally be put in a car with Bose speakers?

gotta work
I'm going to the Keys next week. I haven't forgot about you and Lime Rock. It is gonna cost pretty big to get in. I'll probably end up joining SCCA, and doing some club work to pick my spot. I really don't want to get into any fender crunching races. Sit tight!
Its cool bro
I would like to go and watch someone do it and maybe ride along. I might go maybe next year with the TTZ brakes and some suspension mods. Also most of the racing there is designed to keep crashes to an extreme minimum. You can only pass in specific places, you get an instructor to teach you the lines, etc. It sounds like fun though

Lime Rock
Yeah I figure its a good idea to pay some dues and make some friends before hitting the track. I have to upgrade the brakes for the track. It would be sweet to have the turbo and be able to pull on most 3 Series.
lions, and tigers, and bears
oh my, I'd be content with other maxes (get VE the credit it is due),any NA Rice,NA A6-A4, and any car made by Sven.
Maybe if I kiss *** at Skip Barber, drop$$$,I can try out some of that viper whiplash.
