Shaking while accelerating

Occasionally my max gets this hesitation feeling while under 2.5K RPM and while in drive. I was thinking it was my spark plugs but not sure. When i step on it i get this shaking and my max doesn't want to move. If i accelerate harder, it'll get going but slowly and shift. When it shifts in to the next gear, it'll get that sluggish/shaking feeling again until i step on it hard. After like 2 miles it'll go away. Does anyone know what is causing this? I don't think its the tranny, cause its not constant and i got the ATF changed last week. Could it be electrical or the fuel injectors? any suggestions?

That's the million dollar question. I have 94 SE and haven't been able to determine the problem yet. I can tell you this though, I've changed knock sensor, fuel filter, spark plugs, PCV valve, new water pump, air filter and TPS. Some have changed anyone of these and its fixed the problem, but not mine.

It sounds like an ignition problem. Check the cap, rotor, wires, plugs, all connections. Also, check the connections to the fuel injectors. The clue should be that it goes away. Good luck, and let us know if you find it.

Re: Shaking while accelerating

I have a 94 and spoke with my mechanic about it. He said his does the same thing. It is in the brain of the car, the part that tells the fuel injectors to open or close. The brain it telling it to open, meanwhile there is not enough fuel going through the valves, therefore the stutter starts. As long as when you can let off the gas or give it a lot more and it stops, he said there is no damage happening to the vehicle, so not to worry. He also said it is a very costly item to fix.... Hope this helps, cheers,

Reese
