100W in foglights?

Has anyone had problems with this, such as wires/housing melting? Do you recommend this or just 55W? Thanks.

NO DO NOT DO IT. Stick with 55W.

If you want to put 100W fogs in there you had better at least upgrade the wiring and use a relay.

Man are you trying to blind somebody? Please don't tell me you are considering running 100W headlights along with 100W foglights. You'll most likely get a lot of tickets for that set up anyway. I don't know what the laws are in your hood, but around here cops will stop you just to tell you that your not suppose to drive with your foglights on, unless there is fog.

Ohh, and yes I do drive with my foglights on anyway.

Most likely you will melt the wire harness....100w is a lot. Usually bulbs that run that high don't last too long either but its a must to upgrade the wire harness and relay like awsm66 said.

No, I'll be running silverstars soon, so not 100W headlights. I think I'll stick with 55W and not even venture towards 70 or 100 for the fogs.

I have 80W/100W 9004 Hella bulbs on a custom harness with individual relays for the low's and hi's. I run 100W H3's in my foglights.

So fricken bright and clean. No problems here. I run with my headlights and foglights on all the time.

can you explain the physics to why the harness will melt and why a separate relay is recommended?

basically the thicker guage wire will conduct better and transfere more energy effienctly. as opposed to using a thing gauge wire, too much heat and soo much energy going through that wire will litterly make it burn up, and will melt the plastic casing of the wiring, and then smoke and possibly a fire.

hrrm anyone knows how to upgrade the stock headlight harness? any write ups and pics of detailed step by step guild wih pics of wht you tap into?

What does the headlight wiring harness have anything to do w/ the foglight wiring harness? If you want an upgraded headlight wiring harness, just go to Craig's website. http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte671n/mymax.html
