Busted A/C Tensioner Pulley

I decided to replace a snapped A/C belt today. But, when I put the new belt on and started the car, all I heard was a loud screech and smoke coming from under the hood. After checking it out, I saw that the pulley between the crank and A/C compressor wasn't spinning. When I finally took it off, and inspected it, this is what I found. Fun... no???

Check out the missing and/or busted bearings.

All my girlfriends seem to think that it's pretty hot... so who am I to go against what they like???

Sorry Craig, but their opinion on this has more pull than yours.

NOT GOTH DAMMIT!!!
I prefer metal... or rivit...

I don't know about the pulley though, the best I can figure is that one of the washers somehow jammed in between the bearings and caused it to seize.

Oh, it runs... just no A/C. Which really isn't a problem since that's what I was aiming to fix in the first place. Just sucks now that I need to go buy another part when I'm strapped for cash at the moment.

Bump. My A/C did the exact thing last year... oct.
I had the a/c working fine and charged and 2-3 days later when i turned on my max there was a loud screeching noise from the hood and turn the a/c button off it went away tuned it on and the rpm 's dropped and the noise came back on and then followed by smoke. Now i have no a/c in the car and the dog days of nyc summer is in full effect. So the question is that do i need a new a/c compressor?? Sounds like the disk siezed up or something but similar to your situation. Darn I love my 14 yr old maxima.
