I've read like 2 other org members (Chris Cheezer and rupe ) who complained about having a piece of pipe cleaner stuck inside their crankcase breather hose. So while I was under the hood today, I decided to check it out just for sh*ts and giggles. And lo and behold, it was right there.

This thing was stuck in the upper portion of the hose. I suggest you all check it out, I can't think of a possible use for it, and like Chris said, the idle is much smoother now.

only ting I can think of is to prevent any large particles from passing thorugh the hose and getting through the baffle and into the crankcase...

Yeah, I figure it's some sort of filter. But it's pointless... at least IMHO...

well I seriuosly doubt a small restriction in the crankcase/PCV evacuation can't really be that much of a problem, i doubt its a really big deal. probably better since its catches the oily vapor before they got the TB elbow and into the manifold

It's no power gain, but my idle seems better... but then again that could all be a psychological thing. It's really up to you whether to pull it or not. I'm just calling attention to it...

- i havent posted in like forever.. but dont worry, I'v been reading the fourms like 24-7, my max is running great! but it still has that odd tranny problem, i have to let her warm for a solid 4 min. before driving. im now looking for a front right side bose speaker, i cant get a hold of anyone that talks or replys to their PM
-* Axles: i have been riding around (about 20k miles) with clicking axles, and they havent broken yet,LOL, one of these days ill have the ***** to replace them myself

Yeah, I had never noticed that before until 2 weeks ago. I was tearing down a VG, and keeping all of the salvagable hoses, and I noticed that thing in there. I was like WTF? but it is safe to assume it serves a purpose and isn't harming the performance or idle of your car. Leave it alone, I would say.
