Speedometer went dead...

I read somewhere that the search was back up, but I still get the same "no sir" when I try to access it. My speedometer went out and there are no trouble shooting directions in my Haynes/CHilton manual, it only said how to remove and replace a speed sensor cable. Would this be the only thing that would make my speedo go dead? And what was the final verdict on what to use in order to get the adhesive off when taking off the door moldings?

If you're odometer doesn't work either it's probably a bad speed sensor. Don't assume it's the cable...

speedo fix

Mine worked intermitently until it just stopped. If you take the speedometer sensor off the tranny you will see a black cap on the top of it, (the part the wires go into). somtimes this cap gets pushed out,I don't know why. all I did was put the sensor in a vise with one side on the metal lip and the other on the plastic cap and pressed it back in. there is a detent in the metal casing were the wires fit. It solved all the probles and didn't cost a thing. hope this helps.

If you could get me a few more details on how you did this it would be appreciated. My Manual doesn't have anything on speedometer not working other than the cable so i don't even know where to begin looking once I get the car up.
