will keeping the stock y-pipe and upgrading just the stock muffler to a aftermarket one make the growl deeper than stock, if so how much deeper?? any sound files?

Hey, your Max is beautiful, I have the identical car, same color, only mine's a 93 with 179k on it, and a 5 spd. I just got my y-pipe replaced with a factory pipe. I then put on an after market muffler. Stainless steel Otto muffler from Procarparts.com. It was $60. and sounds very nice. It has a deep tone at idle and gets a little louder when accelerating, but it's not too loud, it sounds good, not ricey at all. I highly reccommend it. Gives your Max an aggressive sound. i have a stock y pipe, but i dont have a stock cat-back, and it sounds great, really low, and quiet at idle.
