Does anybody know how to activate the car alarm on a 1990 SE. I bought the car with on manual. It went off once and I had to lock and unlockto the passenger side door to shut it off. Doea any one have any info for me? Thanx

 

If you lock up your car with the windows open, wait until the security light goes OFF. (The description in your other post suggests it works as it should. My 93 has sensors in the doors, hood, and trunk, but no motion sensors. If any of them are open, the security light will blink. If all are closed the light is off, and when you lock the car (and thus arm the alarm) the light stays on solid for 10-20 seconds, which indicates a grace period, during which you can unlock the doors, or trunk without the key without it going off. After the light goes off, the alarm is armed).

Now if you unlock the car with your hands through the open window and open the door, the lights will blink, and the horn will go in the rhythm of the lights) You silence it by actuating a key in the driver door, passenger door, or trunk lock.
