looking for opinions

I am going to get some hyperwhite headlight bulbs for my 92 Max. I was wondering what was the best wattage(or brands) to look for without having to upgrade my wiring harness. Thanks

Well anything over 55w will start to kill your wire harness. If you get something with a little bit higher I suggest just changing them so you don't have to worry about it.

You can make your own wiring harness hereCraig's Page . Our headlights in general just suck so matter what bulbs you put in it's not going to be that great. I have Silverstars and really like them. Do a search on them. I know some people have posted pics of their cars with silverstars.

As for the silvestars, I have them and they are great. I have been through many superwhite bulbs, and these still have a much brighter and clearer output. Also, they are not blue and don't look like stock lights either... go with them and you wont have to worry about upgrading wires or premature burned out bulbs.

So, do you think that the silverstars will give you a better output than the BMW conversion. I have the stock setup now and I can't see crap at night. I was thinking of doing the conversion, for the simple fact that one of my factory headlights is broken and won't stay in the correct place.

If you dont wanna dish out the money for Silverstars, try Cool Blues. I had those before I got my BMW lights and thought they were good.

How many ppl in here have them? They sound good. I'll look into it a little more, but I'm thinking about getting them. Thanks for the opinions guys.

I have Silverstars on my SE-R and they're great! I am planning on getting them for my "new" 91 Max soon.

I have silverstars on my max and they are nice and white. I had cool blues and for the money I think they are the best. The silverstars are a little brighter but not enough to justify the price difference I dont think.

Just to see the difference I put one of my CBs in one light and a silverstar in the other. You can see a difference but its not drastic.

Oh and this is on my 92GXE with stock headlights and not my 93SE with the E36s.
