Clicking Noise From Dash

Hey guys. I have noticed that in the past few months, when I start the car, I hear this clicking sound coming from behind the dash/console. It seems to only happen when the AC is on. Any ideas? Please God, don't let it be a new compressor or anything expensive. Another Question: My fan switch will only blow hot air when it is in the 4 position. Any ideas?

on 4 the air is going by the colling mechanism too fast to be cooled. My car does the same thing. you might want to replace the freon.

The sound is most likely just rattle from a loose piece of plastic somewhere. Unless it's real loud I would ignore it.

You may have debris in your blower motor. or one of the control actuators on your climate control may be slipping. Can you descibe the sound? Does it change or go away when you change venting modes?

The sound is really a repetitive thing. It clicks every few seconds and then when the car has been on for about 2 minutes or so, it goes away.

I have the exact same deal with my car, and the best way i can describe it would be the same sound as a blinker but at like 10 times faster rate and also only when the air is cut on for about the first 2 mins.

it could be a loose or stripped ground. i've noticed occasionaly when i've been screwing around with my h.u. wiring that if a ground touches a metal piece in the dash area that i'll get a very repetitive clicking from a relay until the wire isn't touching the metal anymore.
