VG Intake Modifications, WOW!!!!
Hey Guys,
AntonTheGrey came over to my house tonight (well, someone else too
) and we turned my garage into a mini monster garage. First Anton wanted me to check the corner rewire I did for him because his Dad looked at it and "fixed" it, all "4" wires, the green and red's were wired into one big bundle (where its supposed to be 2 green, and the red from the bulb.) anyway, I fixed it for him and he shouldnt have a problem blowing fuses anymore. Then he wanted to take out the air silencer tube from the air box to behind the head light. (that reminds me, Anton, we never took out the piece behind the headlight). We then proceeded to yank out the "primary" intake tube. I took a cut-off wheel and cut off the extra piggy back box on the intake, then Anton was thinking duct-tape to cover the hole but then I got another idea. We took the wierd almost half circle tube from out of the fended, and it fits perfectly into the hole that was in the primary intake tube into the resonator thats build into it. Then I went over and took out my torch and started to melt the two pieces together, but then Anton said stop, took my torch away, and then began melt it together himself, along with a alot more of the tube where we cut.
We put it all back together, and we switched out the Air filter from my 5th gen into the 3rd gen box, and it does fit!. Although his was cleaner, mine had twice as much surface area, and with some air, came clean. I think he might put a cone on it if he finds a deal.
The dang thing roars like a ________. I think its louder than my InJen (and I just put it on 2 days ago). The 5th gen has more sound dampening in it, but still, now the VG sounds Mean!!!! its awesome. I warned Anton that he's probably going to have worse gas mileage now because the sound is addicting.
He's going to try and get pictures for you guys tommarrow. Makes me want to buy a 3rd gen.

yeah, 2nd gear on his car is loud as hell, I though we might get introuble (not really, but it sure does sound loud. I looked over at the speedo after 2nd gear and its at 55ish MPH, so thats a gear away from my old 80mph on the VE Auto. Its cool though, keep him out of trouble.... believe me, it isnt fun.
