2002 SE wheels on a 92 SE?
i just recently bought a set of stock 17" 2002 SE wheels+tires for my 92 SE. the question is, does any know if i will have fitment issues? i just bought them on ebay for real cheap. i couldn't resist because it was such a good deal. my fear is that i might have to get some sort of spacers or get some custom work done, or worst case will have to part with them. they look really nice and i just wanted some better handling and traction than the stock 15 inchers.
i called around and asked some wheel shops here in toronto and they said that the wheel offset for the maximas has not changed from 89 to 2002. the wheel size is 17x7 i believe and they come with 225/50R17.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Walk out to your car and put them on. Do they fit? Good. Do they rub the fender standing still? Do the rub the struts? Get some buddies (large preferably) to bounce the car up and down while you watch the clearances. Any rubbing? If it's close you can always chalk the tire where it's close and see if it rubs off.
The last thing to try is driving it....
The other thing to note is the size difference, but in this case it's not to bad. At an actual 70 mph your speedo will show 69 which is acceptable.
Nice score!

well, i got my wheels and put them on. first of all they look great. then i did all the tests and the back tires (just the rubber not the wheels) were touching very slightly on the rear struts. i took it to a wheels shop and they checked it out too. they said the tires are not touching but they are reeeeally close. i should be fine if i do "normal" driving but during hard cornering the rear tires will rub on the struts. so he suggested i get a couple of 3mm spacers and i should be good.
thanks to all who gave valuabe tips.

3rd gen SE wheels almost fit my 68 Mustang, except they hit the upper A-Arm. 2000 SE wheels almost fit my 68 Mustang as well, however they hit my upper A-Arm and tie-rod end.

oh, yeah, they will fit, no problem.

I have the 03 SE wheels and tires on my 93 SE and they fit alright.
They only rub when I turn the wheels all the way to the left on a piece of plastic under the car. I love the look of the wheels on my 3rd gen.

if they are the seven spoke design, you will have no problems. i have the same wheels on my 92 and 96 se. did not have a problem. the 17's have a 40mm offset looks real nice and your source is right, the bolt pattern has not changed since 89' i even had a set of 91 300zx rwd rims on my 92, and they were 8'' wide, good luck and i'm sure they will look great
