Ignition Coil Question
Ignition Coil Question
My car runs rough. The Chiltons manual says that the ignition coils should be around .8 ohms. well i got 1.2 ohms for the front three and didnt bother with the rear three. so am I to assume that I need new ignition coils??? Because the resistance is higher than it should be which means Im not getting good spark. any help, thanks
I'd check the back six also. If all six read the same then I's suspect that your VOM was to blame. If you have one or two coils that don't read like the others then I would suspect those coils.
The problem with checking resistance of the coils is that they are usually okay under light loads. It's when you boot it that they break down.
