Any tips for bolting up the bottom part of the a 5spd?

Any tips for bolting up the bottom part of the a 5spd?

Well yesterday I got the transmission installed and everything, but not completely bolted up. now its being a PITA and the metal dust sheilds arent lining up correctly even thought pilot holes are.



any tips, this is really ****ing me off.

Oh boy. If the big on is on backwards you will have to pull the tranny out a little. If the little 1/2 moon one is not lining up, turn it around

but the there is one extra bolt hole on the left side (radiator) than the right (firewall), I believe.

Which cover? I do believe that one might fit both ways. Instead of priding yourself on how fast you can take the tranny out, you should have paid attention on how it was installed. j/k

I to forget which way the gasket side goes. I believe on the engine side.

the larger one seems to be the one giving me the trouble. I have it as the full plate then the half size one, which is how it came off. (a weathered mark/discoloration confirms it aswell).

5 spd tranny problem

Hey guys, my '92 SE 5spd is frozen up in 2nd or 3rd. I had some service done on the bearings about 5 months ago. Then one day, I couldn't shift it. Any ideas?

if its stuk in 2nd but feels like its in nutral the spring that puts tention on the shift ball has to be streched out or replaced this happened on mine back in dec and i drove with only 2nd for 2 weeks
