EGT placement

EGT placement

where should i put my EGT sensor? right before the O2? on one of the downpipes? make an attempt at tapping a manifold? i just want the most accurate reading.

you want it on your excaust. VG or VE? on the VG right before the O2 would be a good spot. and on the VE probably right after the manifold probably.

on either car just before the O2 might be too far away ...you shouldn't position an EGT gauge more than 6-8" from the manifold(s). check in the 4th gen forum a few of them have EGTs insatlled...I've only done them on 4cyl. motors...so I'm clueless as to a 6. I'd say the front pipe on the Y and call it a day.

VE..just after which manifold?

why would the Vg be different than the VE?? that makes no sense

I stuck mine about 4-5" down from the flange on the front manifold. easy to get to and out of the way of everything else. (plus when I bolt the turbo in, it'll be in the perfect spot so I don't have to run new wire.)
