blown fuel pump fuse

This morning I was driving and when I was returning home I noticed that all my dash lights were on and my car off as I approached a stop light. I was like wtf...and tryed turning on the car, and it wouldnt start. I put on my hazards and started checking things..I figured it may be the fuel pump since the car wouldnt start up. I checked the fuse, it was blown so i changed it and turned on the car. Car shuts off almost immediately and i check the fuse is blown again. I tryed it one more time and it blew again. At this point I was gonna get it towed..like 10 min later I try another time with another fuse and the car started and ran just fine. I bought more fuses and drove around some more, no problems yet. What might have gone wrong?

well its been a week with no problems like that, so hopefully it wont happen again....maybe some wiring was wet because it rained a day before that happened???

i could have somthing to do with your fuel pump getting to old and hot and not wanting to turn on but i dont know thats really wierd if it happens again i would just replace the fuel pump its only like 100$ then go from there

Could be the fuel pump relay (its in the truck). Even though its hard for me to figure out why yours could cause such trouble, they are known to go bad. Let us know if this is the case.

Bros. I had the same problem. After investigation it turns out the wiring was not grounded properly and was causing a short. My dilemma was I already purchased a fuel pump and ended blowing out the pump again. Check the wiring and make sure that's not the source of the short.
