amp in trunk?

Hey, I have a '92 max gxe and I am having some stereo problems. It looks like there is a stock amp in the trunk, is that what that is? If it is, is it for all of the speakers in the car or just the back two? How many watts is it? Aaron

According to the Haynes manual, the Amp in the trunk is only for the rear speakers. I'm assuming your rear speakers say ACTIVE SPEAKER on them like mine do. ( Non- Bose. ) That's the best I have!

I hate that damn factory amp. my fronts sound so much better (they're driven by my Pioneer FH-P4400 headunit which is much clearer and has more punch). I want the whole damn car driven by the headunit.
