My 92' Maxima had a broken antenna when I got it and I jsut went to my local junk yard and got one off another maxima, it not hard to switch, I got it for 8 bucks so not too expensive, I've also seen replacement power antennas for 30 bucks at stores so you might try you a autoparts or a place like Fry's where i saw them...

you can go either way. nissan sells replacement antenna masts for not too much $$.
If you don't want to do that, then you can replace it with aftermarket powered or non/powered antenna.

if you'll reach inside the hole for the jack inside the trunk (pull out the jack first), you can find the power plugs (there's two of them for some reason. not sure which does what), then just unplug them.
you'll also have your antenna plug to worry about too when you replace, but not hard at all.
