Whining noise coming from... somewhere?
It happened so suddenly. I simply drove my 93SE as I always do. Parked it. Left for a couple minutes. Got back and started it.
As soon as I started it, a moderately loud low-tone whining noise started coming from somewhere in the engine compartment, I think on the right by the belts. Its been like this for a couple weeks now with no change. Doesn't matter if its hot or cold. I noticed that it only appears between 750 and 1250 RPM, which I guess is a sign of something vibrating at that frequency or I don't know what.
If someone has had this before or might have any clue about it, please give me some advice because it worries me.
Thanks!
Michael

it sounds like maybe the power steering pump? check ya belts make sure none of them is too tight!! I changed my alternator and my mechanique at the time over tightened the belt and it would scuell a little bit. But in your case try having the car running but parked and turn the steering wheel all the wat to the right and left if you hear the noise once the wheel is turned make sure to hold it not just let the wheels slightly turn back
