MAF question

Is the maf from a VE interchangeable with a VG?
I suspect that it's not but i figured i'd ask just to be sure.

Actually, I was going to try using the MAF from my 89 GXE auto in place of my 93 SE 5spf MAF; it's been quite a while since then, but I seem to remember that the connector was keyed differently- maybe it's just the 89, first year stuff or something, but I know in my situation I couldn't use it, doh.

I know that a lot of MAF sensors are interchangeable with one another. What they do is pretty simple, and they're quite standardized.

I really don't understand why they wouldn't be interchangeable. Really has nothing to do with VG design or VE design.
