Is this a serious problem?
Recently, when I turned on the ignition the "check engine" symbol lit up in my display and the car started vibrating a little bit (felt like i was driving over rough asphalt). The vibration wasn't hard but just kind of harder than usual. I turned off the car without even trying to drive and turned it back on, it worked perfectly fine afterwards. This rarely happens (like 1-2 times a week) considering I drive multiple times each day. The car seems to work fine, accelerate/shift gears etc but I am just kind of worried as to what this might be a sign of. Any help would be appreciated. I got a 94 Automatic GXE btw, with 108k miles. Thanks.
Rough idle....
when was your last tune up??

Personally.........
I'd look into a full tune-up!!!! I've had my car since 105K and at 130K i just rcently got a full tune-up, and what do you know evey single part on there is OEM out the factory, in other words the owner never changed a thing on the car which is VERY bad!!! personally I would get a FULL tuneup, just to make sure or maybe have the car looked over by a pro, but sounds to me like idle speed might be off(which is nothing major!) so get it checked out and see what you find out, thats my best advice!

Well I bought the car not so long ago so I am not sure when the previous owner had one. What do you suggest it might be though? Or does it just need tuning?

Can you spell...
Bad fuel I N J E C T O R... Everytime I've had this happen it's been a bad fuel injector. Try running some Techron injector cleaner through a couple tanks and start saving. The injectors are a known problem and are about $125+ each for the injector and about $300 or so for installation. If one goes - I'd replace all of them if you can afford it.
I did one - then another - then all the rest.

unfortunately I'm gonna have to agree with Tick Tock....I've been having this problem for over a month now. It only happens to me about once a week & the light will come on for a few seconds...my mechanic had read error code 51 but when running tests the light kept going off & the car would run perfectly which prevented him from testing. So he doesn't want to see me until it's happening all the time. I've been running chevron w/techron gas. Also this only started happening after I got a fuel injection flush. First time in 3 years I've had one so I think I disrupted the system
