-pretty easy job..rear is kinda tedious
-yes, get an alighnment whenever messing with suspension
-bump stops are the little spongy thingies on the shock shaft that prevent bottoming out...they simply slide off/on

thanx damax- a few more little things, will need a torque wrench and or a breaker bar for the job?
its ok to drive around for a little while with out the alighnment.. right?
wil need to get a camber correction? in the future?
and i know i will need a spring compressor to service the bump stops

.. i can't wait! any last min. addvice?

1. rent compressors from AZ (not the state). make sure it is compressed all the way before you loosen the center bolt!!!
2. probably need a 12" breaker for the bolts in the rear suspension. not totally necessary but helps.
3. make sure you have liquid wrench or equivalent.
4. post-install, i drove around for a long time before my accident. alignment was "perfect" in that the car did not deviate on a straight road. i just installed the previous set on my new max and it needs an alignment now.
5. takes me no time at all now to do the install, but it might be long the first time. just take your time and be thorough. good luck!

oh, the car handles totally differently from a GXE with old struts. you'll love it.

EDIT one more thing, you might need a large wrench like plumbers use to open the rear strut cartridge, unless you have the Nissan specified tool.

1. The rear suspension (that you will be getting) is complete so you will only need to unbolt the caliper, remove disc, remove radius rod, parallel link, sway bar and mount bolts.
2. You will need a compressor to compress the springs. You can rent one from autozone for $40 which you will get back when you return it.
3. 1/2" breaker bar and ratchet will help.

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE BUMP STOPS!

I left mine off the front, and now the car bottoms out if I hit a big enough bump. Now I have to take the front suspension back off and replace the bump stops.

I just finished installing mine.....let me give my $0.02:

- On the rears, mark the front bolt on the strut tower so that when you put it back together, you know how to align them (since they only fit in one configuration)

- I bought all new KYB dust boots. They are excellent, and they have built-in bumpstops.

- If your car has a bit of rust like mine, a 12" breaker bar may not be enough (I bought a 24" one)

- If you have an Addco RSB already installed, take it off the car before you jack it up. I forgot about that step.

Good luck.

Here you go DanNY

M.I.C. Tire Pros
47-01 Northern Blvd.
Long Island City, NY 11101
718-626-5200
Monday Thru Saturday, they open at 8. I always go there at 7:30 so that I am first online on the alignment machine because if you go late good luck they have a lot of cars.

Ask for Hamza, he's the manager there, if you need reference just tell him Diego sent you there. The front camber bolts through him are $50.00 but you can find them online for cheaper and the 4 wheel alignment is $50.00 and if you pay cash he won't charge tax.

$50 for a 4-wheel?! dayum! if only they were that cheap here...

I'm looking at probably $150 minimum to get mine aligned once I finish the suspension. then again, that involves corner weighting and a track-spec alignment, not the typical "set the toe and let it go" alignment most shops do.

2 things:
1. you're definitely tight about the toe and go bs you find at most shops.
2. I sell those alignment bolts.

That's what you need. Just make sure you get the kit that attaches on the side and not through the middle. You'll know what I'm talking about if you get the wrong kit

You sure you don't have the rear toks? They are just inserts so you wont be able to tell for sure unless you open them up and look at the cartridge inside.

Who did you buy these from? Just wondering

No you didn't read the post wrong. What you have is the full rear strut with tokico inserts. Notice the strut how it's a one piece design? You must reuse the stock body. Read this page: http://www.4dsc.com/articles/suspens...ico/rear.shtml.
If you don't believe me remove the gland nut and check the cartridge for yourself. I wouldn't rip you off.

It's the difference between insert vs the cartridges right?

Ya if it just falls down it's blown. Remove the gland nut with a pipe/monkey wrench and remove the cartridge. I just called up tokico and they said the place i bought it from-Nopi- will replace it. Nopi is closed right now but I'll give them a call tomorrow. Or if you don't want to wait I'll split the cost for a new cartridge with you. They go for about $60-65
