I was just bored/curious and I searched for it fow awhile but couldn't really find anything about it so I thought I would just put it out there. It's just somethning I was wondering about, but is there anyway I could get my car to be just a little bit louder. I have a nice low rumble but I was looking for maybe a louder growl to it...........

FYI: I have a K&N style cone intake and a DTM style exhaust.........

 

be like me... rip out the catalyic converter and resonator and put in new SS 2.5" piping

the "tasteful" way to make it louder is to remove the resonator.. only problem is anything you change isn't going to be a constant X dB louder.. it'll only be louder at certain ranges of the rpm.

 

You're kidding right? Isn't it loud as hell? And won't you get pulled over if a cop is nearby?

 

I didn't do the mega phone tip.
But I did eliminate the resonator and muffler. straight pipe all the way out.
and no it's not loud at all.
BTW I have a VE motor if it makes any difference

But it is actually too quiet for me. I'm gonna slap a supertrapp on the end of it when I get some money together. h opefully that'll deepen the tone and bring back some low end grunt that I lost.

 

just run pipes up through the hood, she'll be loud as hell and look like a beast.....haha

But run it through a cabin air filter first.

If you want your exhaust louder just run a straight pipe, but im pretty sure that is illegal in most states.

 

A staright pipe in place of a CAT is illegal in ALL states
as is tampering with any emissions equipment.

y-pipe, hi-flow cat, and hi-flow muffler will make it loud as he*ll. resonator or not. legally.

i got headers ordered for my other max. i'm gonna tell you how they are when they're on. those will louden things up.
