I cant remember but I think a volvo or some other cup holder is commonly used.

Search on here and you should find what youre looking for.

on maximas there was an option that came on some of the maximae were cup holders undernieth the radio instead of the sroage compartment. I just got one for my max, I guess they are prety hard to find. I got mine from my buddy and he still has one left. Anyone interested email me at plmj@attbi.com with an offer.

If you want to keep your car stock, you could get the factory cup holder. However, it's possibly the most poorly designed cup holder ever made on Earth or anywhere else in the Universe. You'd be better off steering with your knees and holding your cup in your hand. I recently ordered a cupholder from a Saab dealership which fits in the standard DIN slot under the radio. It was from the previous generation Saab (like 1996-1999?) It's light years better. Do a SEARCH for 'cupholder' and you can see a picture of what I'm talking about.

Here's a good cupholder on Ebay. A little expensive for my tastes, but, this is just to show you the Saab cupholders.

I was reading on Craigs website and found the link to install a new HU which also tells you how to remove the dash. ==>http://www.geocities.com/bracecraig/maxima/stereo.html

Where do u go after step number 4 to take off the cupholder? is there a way to seperate the cupholder unit from the stereo...??

Yeah undo the bottom two screws on the bracket instead of the top 2

yes, they are both separate, there are two brackets on either sides, just make sure you dont ruin the srews, all you need to do is take out the whole hu/cupholder from the dash with the four screws then once that is out, disconnect the wire harness and the whole thing pops out, youll see how easy it is to remove when youve got them out in one piece,
