Factory Bose without amps

is it possible to use the factory bose speakers, with an after market reciever, by just not hooking up the amps? im sure the moderaters will give me some noob sig for posting something thats already been asked, but if they're gonna do that they should improve their search function.

Ok the bose speakers are 1ohm or so speakers. most car stereos are designed to drive 4-8 ohm speakers. so there is a GOOD chance you'll blow your HU.

and yes they know the search function needs help

there are some HU harnesses I've seen for the 3rd gen that will avoid blowing the amp, but they work like crap and give you lousy sound.
