Handling

About 6 months ago I installed eibach spring, KYB shock and a FTSB on my 89. For the first 3 months everything worked fine. Now if i make a turn to tight, it feels like the car is sliding across the road. I haven't upgraded to 17 yet, but I see why that would be a problem. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

well it could be a number of things... To start, how fast are you going around these turns? If you are taking turns like a mad max man then you may slide. If you take turns like me you might break something Get yourself a good set of tires, and a rear swaybar. That would be what I would do if I were you.

It happens when I make a left turn from a signal light. I am usaully not got fast at all. The tire have about 90% tread left on them.

Did you look under the car for loose / broken sway bar parts?
Just thinking

left turn from a signal...15...20...25 mph? big problems if you're "sliding" at those speeds

I haven't had time to check the uderside. I read that the back sway bar bracket can break if you put new after market swaybars in. Is this true? I was thinking of put the ST sway bars front and rear in. What can been done to prevent this from happening?

Absolutely yes your stock brackets WILL break so as long as you beaf them up before they break then they won't break. You just need to strengthen the mounts with a piece of steel welded to the bracket by the frame

no problem, I just wish that I knew about it before I put mine on and ripped the brackets out. I made new brackets and bolted them on (ripped one out again) and will be welding them back on next week

Yeah, I would check the suspension for worn out or broken parts. Don't just get down on the ground and look - you should jack up the front of the car (use stands!) and check all the components and bushings. Alternatively you can take it to a mechanic to check since it's easier to do the checks up on a hoist and he can do it faster anyway...

probably time for a full suspension rebuild.
by this time, your 89 should have gone through a set of ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links, control arm bushings, etc etc etc.

If you haven't replaced any of them, then I can guarantee you the car will handle better if you do.
