question for 3rd Gen owners

Hey guys, I am a 3rd and 4th gen maxima owner. I got an offer the other day for my 3rd gen so Im thinking about selling it. She has a broken odometer so mileage is unknown. She runs strong and is very clean inside and out. Few minor dings/scratches, a fading front bumper and side trim but all in all a very decent car. My question to you guys is: is it worth $2750? Will i regret selling her? I wanted to do an engine swap, like put a 3.5VQ with 6spd manual in it. I do have the other max so this is basically my toy to play with and im sorta attached. Just wanted to get some input from you guys who also love the maxima.

More notes about the car:
1990, 5spd trans, SE trim, black on grey interior, sunroof.
Parts replaced:
timing belt, water pump, clutch & rebuilt trans.

I am not putting the car up for sale or trying to sell her on the .ORG with this message, im just trying to get some advice form other fellow owners.
Thanks for the input.

Would have to be pretty low miles or in top notch condition to get that I would think. Why have two FWD 4-door sedans?

why not, then you can have one to mess up and then one to drive without losing dignity.

I mean really. If you need two of the same car in order to make sure you have a decent running car all the time, maybe the maxima is not the right car.

you could always use the money you sold it for your 4th gen, 2750 could get you quite a few ponies.

Wow! $2750 seems WAY high for a 90 SE. I'd take it and run!

That’s a lot of bread for a 90 with a broken odometer?

for a 90 SE with a broken odo yeah it may be high...but if a 90 SE is in clean shape with no problems then its not high...i think its appropriate.

If that's what the other person is offering, take that $2750 and run.
the car is worth closer to $2000, if you're lucky.. don't even bother trying to take it to a dealer for trade- you'll get more money parting it out.

No joke. I just bought a new Lexus and those jokers offered me $400 for my 93 SE Auto! Screw that, it's an awesome daily driver.

GUys, thanks for all the input.
Reading all your replies was just what i needed.
I told the guy i was selling it for $3000 and i would take $2750 from him, later on he talked me down to $2500. I have a cash offer right now for $2000 on the table but im not taking it. The car is in awesome condition and runs very strong, heh like a maxima.

Jeff92se, thanks for your comment about having 2 of the same cars, i was holding onto the 90se cause of the 5spd tranny. Its great to go out and have a little fun every now and then. The auto just doesnt have the same thrill. The auto is alot faster tho cause its newer. But your comment kinda kicked some sense into me.

Good Call!
Why sell a car you enjoy unless you have to.
