devil locks
I have a 91 se and the power door locks have gone crazy..One day I close the door and all the doors locked with the keys in it...bad very bad. Then a day or 2 later I unlock the car and only the driver door unlocks so I have to push the unlock button...then it moves it the unlock button not working. So now a 1/3rd of the time the doors will unlock with the key, if they don't a 1/8th of the time the unlock button works, and it locks the doors when you close any door a 1/4th of the time. Any ideas on what has happened I was thinking ecu but I don't really know just the only thing I could think of. Thanks for any help or input.

i cant really help, but i think its like a solenoid for the door locks that might be goin bad.
im starting to get a problem that weird. whenever the temperature is around 40 or below, my doors will lock. this does it without fail. and my car is in a garage.

Try taking your door panels off and spraying some PB Blaster or WD-40 to loosen up the lock solenoids. It wouldn't hurt to spray it on all springs you see in there, but stay away from electrical harnesses. You probably only have to do this with the front doors.

hey i got the same problem but mines even funkier. its pretty much the same like when you close a front door, sometimes itll lock the doors, whether the cars on, off, keys in or out. the weirder part is that when i use my key to unlock from the driverside, ill unlock it and when my key turns back the the normal vertical position, the locks immediately go back down. then when i try to unlock it again, it will sometimes do it again and again until i guess it finally gives up and lets me in. other times ill turn the key in the door to the right and itll go up and then before i can let the key turn back to normal, itll lock, forcing my key to turn and if i try to hold the key turned to the right, i can feel the lock pushing down and it like stutters up and down trying to lock itself and im here fighting it trying to open it. the only way to cure that one is to let the key back to normal and then try and try again until it opens.
oh and i forgot, sometimes when i close a front door, the locks will lock and then immediately unlock! wth!
damn my car!

I had a similar problem with a driver's side lock (which is 5 wire one). It controls all other door (lock/unlock).
And I had to take out this solenoid and rebuild it because it got all rusty from inside. Don't forget to lubricate it inside.
It has been working fine since (almost two years now).
