shawn... i don't have the pics.... O_o where are they?
edit: see the bigun off to the left? thats what I hacked off. the little curved thing fit right inside the hole left over. oh, there's a *tiny* hole in the bottom of that, putty it up or something....
the other piece goes from the airbox to the headlight area.
edit: forgot the pics... ima http://mrgone.homeip.net/images/anton/1.JPG

I'd hate to whor up this thread, but... while we're on the topic of new intakes ...
I just installed a new pop-charger air filter in plcae of the OEM air box. Is the intake mid-pipe, MAF and filter supposed to get pretty warm to the touch after normal operation?

Thanks for the help!
The reson I asked this is because I bought my bro a MAF adaptor and cone filter for X-mas and was also thinking of pulling the resonator out.
So after you cut it out you just covered it up with ductape or some thing else?

Then Anton went crazy with my propane torch to try and seal it and smooth it all out, but thats not necessary.

search google for "intake resonance tuning".
the resonator is there for a reason, it helps with low end.
i was telling my friend about it and he happened to look it up, a proven 4ft/lb gain over straight pipe on 1.8L miatas...
now if i can find my resonator, i'll reinstall it...whose got one they wanna give me! come on guys, i'll trade you for a cap that fits perfectly over the resonator inlet
edit: i was actually going to fab up(read scavange through junkyards looking for) different resonators and see which worked best, and which combinations worked and which didnt but i got lazy and its an awful lot of work for a few HP..maybe when i'm completely finished with the car and i am bored.

You know I wonder if you could just replace the upper tube, resonator and all with a cheap intake setup like this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2448338086
Would look way better than duct tape or a pvc cap, but it says it's for a 95-99. Not sure if it would match up ok to the 3rd gen VE or VG. Looks like it may have an additional vacuum hose as well. Anyone tried?
