Please Help!!!!! Everyone Read I Am Open To All Suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got in my car this morning and realized that my interior lights werent working. The lights that light up the speedometer, gas gauge, and rpm's dont work and my shifter lights dont work. My lights on my heater controls still work but no speedometer lights and no lights on my shifter. When I got to work I realized that my corner lights werent on either. My front headlights work fine but I did the headlight rewire so they should all be on at the same time. Is there a fuse that these all have in common??? If not what else could be common causes for these all going out at the exact same time?

what else have you done to the car recently?

yes, they are all on the same fuse. your tail lights don't work either.

Check all the fuses in the fusebox - that's the easiest first step...

Simple You have a wire that is shorting out.. someplace along all the interior dimmer tights.? do you have hardwired neons? wired into a dash power source? (if so check your splicing) cuz some place in your car a wire is making contact with a metal surface

i guess

sounds like a grounding issue more than a short to me..run some new ground straps under the dash, and put another ground from the battery to the chassis, and that SHOULD cure it..thats what I did to my truck when its guages and headlights and such weren't working and it fixed it up good as new..

There is a known problem with a short causing the dashlights to go out, along with the running lights. Been there, done that, bought the T shirt. I had this problem with my maxima. I read about 600 pages on the org. Some people had the problem after various rewire attempts with the corner lights, but some haven't. The other causes were a new radio head unit that was miswired, and the rear running lights having a short in the wiring, or the sockets. So, in your case, I would guess that it is due to the rewire. Go back to stock. Or check the rear lamp sockets melting from the heat of the bulbs. Also, replace the fuse in the left dash fuse box. Good Luck. My car that is stock, had the problem in the sockets-a $60 part at the dealer. Yeah, I probably got screwed by the dealer

...and if that doesn't work, spend $10 on ground straps/wires and yourself..

I would check the fuse for your tail lights and parklng lamps, because they are all on the same fues. This happened to me earlier this year. All my interior lights went out, but I had headlights. What I didn't realize was that my parking lights, tail lights and brake lights, were all out too. My problem was a short in the retarded trailer hitch that someone had installed on my Max.

yeah, I haven't been online and posting that much recently

I'm doing well, finally graduated from Georgia Tech last Saturday so I have some free time now (no job yet ) No money for anything else on the car for now.
I saw pics of the most recent NY meet and there are some nice looking cars up there. Hopefully you guys will be able to make the next NOPI in Atlanta.
Any future plans for your car?

It will pop again. Whatever made it po the first time is still f'd. He should check the condition of the lead contacts on the back if the taillight bulb. Mine had spread out and gotten heated so often that the sockets melted too. Blew a bunch of fuses before I figured this one out.

Yeah, it could have been a one time deal. But my car blew a fuse, replaced the fuse and no problems for a few weeks. Then it began to immediately blow fuse after fuse. Had to have the rear lamp socket replaced.

DON'T listen to anybody about the fuses, there is no dedicated fuse or relay for dash lights. I am having the same problem. I took apart the whole dash and instrument cluster and found a bulb and plastic holder had fallen out of the instrument cluster. You need to see if this is the problem and if it is be prepared to pay $15 for a plastic bulb holder at the dealer.
