any ideas?
Hi guys, I was wondering what I can do to improve my 60 foot times... I think there is something wrong with my car's low end power. I got a 2.7 60 foot and ended up with a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile. I have a 93 se 5spd, y pipe, intake, test pipe, stock muffler, also grounded vtc's. I bought some 215/60/15 yoko H4's to get better traction but still around the same 60foots. it seems to have a pretty bad hesitation in the lower rpm's but once it get above 2 grand its fine. also I dont launch at less than 2000 rpms yet i still get bad times. i need to improve my 60fts. and ideas that might help?

1. wider tires.
2. check your EGR... I looked at a VG that was having issues just above idle the other day.. the EGR would completely open the second you touched the gas pedal, so anything from 800to 1600rpm just sucked *****. the cure for the time being is to disconnect the vacuum hose going to the EGR.
otherwise, the 60ft is all about the launch. read the drag racing and 1/4 mile forums for some info in there. every car and every track is different in that respect, and you'll have to learn several methods that work on different tracks.

my R/T was .750, but I was under the impression that my time doesn't start until i take off...that night, people would wait like 5 seconds to give someone else a head start, and then end up with a 13 second run. I have stock rims, how much wider could I go with those? or would i have to find some other rims to mount them on?
