knock sensor should be under the intake on the ve if i remember correctly. should only be one oxygen sensor (but i'm not positive since i own a vg). on the cone filter. for the muffler i'd get a magnaflow. they sound excelent and are very high quality for a good price. i believe internetautomar sells them. send him a pm and he should be able to get you some prices. if you want to see some models of them go to www.magnaflow.com and look at the street series stainless steel versions.

I had the first ever performance Y on a 3-gen, stock cat and cat back and that ricey MagnaBLOW. HATED it.

I now have a Cattman Y, RT cat(POS btw), custom cat-back and a Y2k muffler. TONS better. I switched the whole system as my old system had ball joint flanges so it's either all or nothing.

1. Yes
2. only 1
3. intake or exhaust sound?
4. sell it back on ebay.
Depends on the exact muffler among other things.

I sell Dynomax, magnaflow, and a whole sh!tload of others.

must be because all of the exhaust mods Jeff...

mine is a bit louder than it used to be but i didn't think it sounded bad. i do want to upgrade to 3 inch though so that might change the sound quite a bit more. i'll see what happens.

Well I don't see the point of having a muffler if you have to run the stock-ish Y. Your's doesn't sound loud because the turbo quiets the exhaust. Going to a 3" will increase loudness though.

its still pretty loud even with the turbo but most likely because there's nothing in the way from the turbo to the muffler. i've heard people say the noise level goes both ways with 3 inch. some say it gets louder, some say it gets quieter. not sure which is true but i guess i'll find out the hard way. as long as its not loud enough to drone real bad in the car i'll be happy.

if you want the intake to be louder the exhaust needs to be quieter to hear it better. you may just try finding a 5th gen muffler. those seems to be pretty popular.

Don't know if you can make your intake LOUDER....but just get a quiet stock replacement muffler so you can hear your intake better....

does it really matter that much?

EDIT: ooh just beat me mtcook!

to get it a bit louder you should also get a replacement for the stock tubing. the stock setup has a huge resonator in there (but with small holes so its not too much to worry about).
