Replacing the Starter

I am not a full member thus I can't search so sorry if this is a repeat post. I am looking to replace my starter myself. Is this something that is easy to do? And for the Atlanta people, does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a trained person to do this?

thanks,
Pickwick

yeah, it's very easy
check out www.4dsc.com/articles and read the article on UDP install. I took off the starter so I could stop the flywheel from spinning when I installed the UDP.
You shouldn't have any trouble, but if you do, bring it over to Duluth and I could probably help you out some weekend.

Thanks for the reply. I've read the article and think that it should be a good exercise for me. Go dawgs.

you should be fine
the starter is pretty heavy so be ready when you take it off and unplug the battery before you start since you'll have some loose wires floating around when you remove it

Go Jackets!!!!!!!!

I still say go dawgs. Of course Craig is a yellow-jacket, just look at all the diagrams on his site. Sick 'em.

It should only be a couple of bolts, and it's like right there after you take off the underbody plastic, so it shouldn't be that hard, but def disconnect the battery.
