Air Intake
Right. I still have to talk to the guys somemore about em, because I want them made exactly right.
None of this too small an inlet BS I want it to match our mafs exactly. I also have to find a filter with a big enough hole on it.

The regular 3 inch inlet filters won't fit? It might be tight, but it will stretch somewhat.
While I think its great if you can get this done for 10-15 shipped I dont agree with you on "havine to have the exact size"...granted it is preferred but it will not make a hill of beans worth of power difference in the car especially with a WAI. IMO the WAI takes power away on hot southern days anyway. I noticed it bigtime (blah blah heat soak...that wasnt the problem because I didnt notice it until I put the Pop charger on) The pop charger doesnt make any power anyway it just sounds good...at least I didnt notice a power increase...some say it makes 5 or so horses but I dont believe that and there is no dyno proof that I know of. I used the factory ring (free) and it worked fine. I wouldnt recomend that to everyone though because some people will want to put their intake back to stock when they sell it though.
Good luck 10-15 shipped for a correct adapter is a great price.

. It will be a lot easier to fit a coupler on there than a 3" filter.on my CAI the adapter was correct btw.
I was planning on doing a pop charger until I can get my hands onto a custom CAI made for me from somewhere. I have a noobie question: If we get a MAF adapter that can fit the 3 1/4 opening will I still be able to use a 3 inch filter? Hopefully I can dyno my car after getting this filter put on.
k, i put in an intake in my car... the 'brass' ring with nuts on it that came with the stock air filter thing... what my friend and I did was PRY ze feker off with a screw driver, took it to a saw machine and sawed out the nuts so we wouldnt have to get new ones. you dont need it really, so we threw it away and kept those nuts. my intake came with a plastic 3mm thick 'adapter' which hole was as big as the pipes. then we custom drilled three holes out and attached it to the stock air sensor, using those nuts that we sawed off.
it all depends on the parts and the size of pipes youre going to get. make sure they will be about the same diameter as your air sensor and air flow headers. after the headers and that accordion looking 4" connector with two clamps on it from both sides, all you need to keep are those nuts which you could saw off, and the air flow sensor. the rest of the stuff which is mainly plastic is the stuff you dont need. keep it somewhere though just in case.
dont bend the brass thing, its a pain in the ***. just either get a new one with no radius on it, or do what i did and saw off the nuts, while throwing away the rest.
all this sounds kinda confusing but when you 'play legos' around with it, and when you actually get a change to work outside and see it for yourself, youll find it pretty easy to figure out. ill get pictures sometime later for you to see what I mean.
good luck dude

no, i only took out the brass ring mounted on the airbox, and cut the brass ring. if youre going to put in an intake, then you dont need it anymore. if youre going to try to bend the radius to make it straight, it will be only straight from the side view, and it will be curvy around, and you dont want that. you can get the bolts at home depot if you want but its just a waste of time. i would though if i didnt have my saw beside me.
