Batt. Light Comes on at stop

Hey, ppl. since winter time my batt. light has been comming on (very dim) when the cars in park, when i rev. the engine a bit it goes away.. and then slowly returns

- im not running any crazy power from the batt. (small amp.4x 75watts) that goes on with the igintion.

im know its the alt. making the light come on. but has anyone ever seen this is there car before?

Yes, that is a voltage reg failing. (that's internal to the alternator)

..... yeah but the stupid part
- the altinator is 1 year old last week... so i dont think ill be able to get a new one for free. (wtf do they make them so they die right when there repacemnt plan runs out?
. i had to replace one last year to, but it wasnt because a bad voltage regulator.. it was a bad diod... is there such thing as a better altinator that i can use? i think the stock ones are 90amp.

1) test the voltage when off/idle. Confirm
2) invest in an alternator that has a lifetime warranty.

You went cheap the 1st time and now look where it got you.

Good luck

Make sure you get a new one, not a ramanufactured one. When i was at pep boys we sold alot of remanufactured ones and had alot of comebacks, but now that im at sears, we sell only new ones, and haven't had any comebacks at all. So spend the money on a new one.
