Misfire in my VG

About two weeks ago I changed my plugs from Bosch platinum to NGK V power.
Now, I'm not sure if it happened right after or this could be the cause of another thing but my car has been misfiring. I changed the cap and rotor and the wires are in the mail and will change once they arrive.

Has anyone ever experienced any problems with either changing to NGK V power or any new plugs? Should I take them out and put them back again? Should get another set just to see if the plugs are the problem?

thanks guys!! :attention

you probably messed up one of your ignition wires in the process of swapping your plugs. i would wait until your new wires come in and go from there.

By pulling all of the wires off the plugs at the same time, rather than doing it one ata time.

That's not what I did. And even if so, what would happen?

hes saying that when you changed the plugs you just pulled all the wires off at one time and not individually, and had you pulled them off one by one then you wouldnt have a misfire...the OE wires are number, go double check and make sure they are all going to the right cylinders

Yes they are. I did them one by one.
Anything else? Never mind guys, I'll figure it out myself.

If you have original wires on a 10 yr old car you got problems.
have you figured out WHICH cylinder is misfiring?
truth is it's probably injectors.

Did you regap the plugs?

Spark Gap should be between .039 and .043 in.

Did the same thing myself a few days ago and the car was misfiring from start to stop...

Check you fuel injectors, your wires (probably not a bad time to upgrade), and your spark plugs. Maybe you didn't gap them or set them in properly.

This just happened to me. I mentioned it on another thread. I had just fixed the rear manifold (it had pulled away), put in a new: gas filter, pcv valve, o2 sensor, air filter ,etc. The front exhaust manifold had pulled away, too and still leaked. But after all of that there was no misfire. I then changed the cap and rotor and put in non-platinum autolite plugs (don't ask me why I was being cheap at the time), which replaced the ngk-v's. Now I have a misfire.

I thought maybe I was getting better detonation and it threw off the new o2 with the exhaust leak. So if fixed the front manifold (Later, I'll do a write up on exactly how to fix broken studs without pulling the heads) leak. Now, I don't hear any exhaust noise (hallelujah chorus), but I still have a misfire (sigh). Tonight I'll go trough the trash and find the plugs I threw away and see if that fixes it.

oh, I also made sure they were gapped correctly. I also checked the timing which is dead on 15 degrees.

Put in new wires last night and the old plugs (ngk-v). Works great now. Hopefully that helps you.
