How long to replace an injector?

Hey,
after a bit of trouble shooting i figured out the center injector in the front bank of cylinders is dead.

After the initial shock of the $230CAD, yes, cost for ONE new injector (bill totalled to around $380CAD with gaskets and new plug wires).

Ive got everything i need to change it out, I have 3 options.
I can do it tonight, as in right now (i probably have all the tools i need)
I can wait until tommorow in school (ive got an hour to do the job there)
I can do it at my place of employment (a snowmobile and ATV dealer, only problem is they dont really like me bringing in my own snowmobile and dirtbike, let alone my car.)

Anyways i guess it all depends on how long this job will take? assuming nothing major goes wrong?

Thanks,
Andy

ummm, it's a 3-4 hour job, minimum.. you have to pull the entire upper manifold to get to it, IIRC..
you MIGHT be able to pull it without taking the manifold off, but it's been so long since I've worked on a VG, I can't say for ertain.

Hmm, look like im going to have my work cut out for me.

Anyways, driving symtoms, engine light, code 51 (apparently only for calif. cars... im in ontario, car came from BC, who knows) Anyways went around unplugging injector connectors until i found the one that made no change... took off plug wire to make sure it was getting spark, plenty of spark, hooked noid light up to injector connector, its getting a pulse, leaving me where i am now.

I am mechanically inclined, like i said i work at an ATV and snowmobile dealer but other then 4 automotive credits at highschool no formal auto training.

i did it in 4 hours, what i did for that was unbolted the 3 bolts before the throttle bodie, then push it to the right enough to get at the bottom left bolt on the other side of the throttle bodie, then push it to the left to get at the right bolt, then took the top bolt off.

BTW it took me 4 hours

does the car run fine now? I have a VE and just changed my center injector too. It wasn't totally bad but I checked it with a multimeter and it was like 35 ohms and should have been 12. Mine runs much better now.
