levoc installation

i wanted to install a levoc shift **** but noticed on chris91se's, the **** sits up a little and isnt flush with the bottom of the shaft. it looks like the **** isnt pressed down all the way. is there a way to cut the stock lever so that the shift **** is flush when installed?

yes there is...I did on mine. The problem you run into is that the rod is way smaller than the tube that it is in. There is the white plastic piece that keeps it centered but if you cut that you will have to have something else center it. I happen to find a piece of rubber that looked like it was a protective tip of some type. Anyway I used it because it had a hole just the right size for the rod and the outside diameter was just right to go in the tube (but not bind).

If you are not comfortable in "re-manufacturing" something then dont try this. If the rod doesnt go all the way down you cant shift and if it doesnt pop back up you will not be able to take your key out...trust me thats why I used the rubber piece LOL. It was not working with the rod of to one side because the piece that goes into the tube would not contact it correctly. Its probably different on the Levoc since its a whole lot nicer **** than my cheap 10 dollar autozone **** (I just wanted a **** I could paint to match).

Pic of my shifter handle:

yes its an auto with a 5 speed surround and boot.

I could have cut mine lower but that was the most comfortable height for me.

yeah, I though you had a an auto, but it threw me off when I saw the 5 speed surrounding on your home page.
