Brake light comes on occasionally

Unable to do a search, I'm asking a question that might have been asked already. Scrolling back several pages didn't turn up anything.

My dashboard brake light comes on occasionally -
- Sometimes comes on after the morning start, stays on for a few minutes then goes off.
- Sometimes when I'm making a turn, it comes on again, then goes off in a minute or so.
- Outside temperature doesn't seem to affect it one way or the other, ranging from single digit to 40+ (deg. F).
- Handbrake isn't engaged at all.
- Already checked the level of brake fluid, and it's clearly above the MIN line. I'd say 1/3 up between MIN and MAX.

Any ideas? What triggers the dashboard light other than the handbrake and the low level of brake fluid?

Thanks.

The brake fluid is low. Its at the point where its right at the low mark on the reservoir. The fluid moving around when you move is making the sensor read that there is a low amount of fluid sometimes. Check your brakes too. Most of the time when fluid gets that low its time to do brakes or you may have a small leak somewhere.

on my car I've noticed that if it's below 1/2 way between min and max, the light will come on if I do any fast moves.. turn hard, brake hard, WOT, etc. I have to keep it at least 3/4 to max to keep the light from coming on.
