How do they match up?

Hi,
I was just curious as to how to the 3rd and 4th gens match up to each other enginewise? Like hp, weight, pickup, ect. I currently have a 93 ve auto with almost 170k on it and I'm debating saving up for a 97-99 se 5-speed...My car just isn't worth it being this beaten on and an auto...and I doubt I'll find a ve 5 speed with decent miles anywhere around here...feedbacks apricated.

Positives of 3rd gens:
1992-1994 SE w/ VE30DE:VE pulls hard to redline (6500-6700 can't remember exactly), VQ30DE dies out at around 5500.

All 3rd gens:Fully independent front and rear suspension. Better handling
All 4th gens:Independent front, multi link beam rear. More body roll than Fully independent.
All 3rd gens:3146 5spd-3246lbs A/T
All 4th gens:3010lbs 5spd-3200lbs A/T
All 3rd gens:hard to SC, easy to turbo.
All 4th gens:easy to sc, easy to turbo.

I wouldn't exactly call any gen "easy" to turbo, otherwise there'd be many more of them.

Uhhh, no you've got it backwards. An indpendent suspension is more complicated in general (hence "independent") and so takes longer to work on. That's why it cost so much to put your springs on. Get on your back and look under the rear of your car. Is there a beam connecting both rear wheels?
