tranny leak after CV replacement

I replaced both CV shafts and drove approximately 50 miles with no apparent problems or leaks. The following morning there was a puddle of transmission oil under the driver's side.
I read a previous thread about a similar problem and the resolution was that the CV shaft was not fully installed (pushed in). Could I have also damaged a seal when pulling the CV axle out?

Thanks for your time.

could be one of the 2. Did you replace the seal when you did the half shaft? Its allways recomended that you do. If you did then it is possible that you didnt intsall it square or flush or that you damaged it when you installed it. If you didnt replace it then that is probably the problem.

do the easy stuff first which is make sure the half shaft is pushed in all the way. If it is take it back out and put a new seal in.

I guess it's also possible to tear the seal when putting the axle in...must haven't been what I did. I don't think I can push it in anymore.
