Fuel Pump/Gas Tank... Gasket?

I would assume there is supposed to be a gasket between the top cover plate where the fuel lines/pump and electical connections connect to and the gas tank itself???

Do you guys think this would be a dealer only part? Could I just use some Black RTV? lol (the oil resistant kind, ie. what you would use for the oil pan and such).

This car is just ****ing me off.

it's a rubber o-ring...a BIG one.

bite the bullet and get it from the dealer. gas fumes in the car while driving can't be fun.

Any dealer will have it (or can order it), but you gotta have one...

Yes Both Kirkland and Melody Nissan (Bellevue) closed. The only left closeby are Cambell-Nelson in Lynnwood, Yonker in South Renton and the one in Seattle (can't remember name).
One's on the drawing boards for Bellvue east of downtown, but won't open until perhaps the end of the year.

Are you sure it's leaking from there? If you don't a gasket, you need one but if the car is sitting there, it won't leak from there.

I drove about a block from filling the tank, so I have a feeling the gas from the filler tube pushed it out of that area. After that I have no idea, time to look for a new gas tank? lol

Are you having a problem with gas leakage and fumes? I recall there was a recall on these cars for rusted out filler tubes. Perhaps this is the problem? I pulled the rear drivers side wheel last year and pulled the plastic cover off of the filler tube. It was encrusted with packed mud. I cleaned it, inspected it for rust and sprayed some undercoating on it to protect it.
