Distributor Installation
1) find the distributor and take note of which spark plug goes into which hole in the distributor.
2) unplug all the spark plug wires
3) there are about 3 screws on the distributor. un screw them and remove the dist.
4) put the new one on. plug the spark plug wires in the SAME EXACT place they were.
Done

just to add to what CanadianMaxima said, before you take it out do this.
1. Unplug the battery (not only for safety, but so the only possiable way to turn over the motor would be to use the pulley bolt or put it in gear and move it).
2. take off the distributor cap.
3. note where the rotor is pointing (power steering resivour cap, specific bolt, etc), use a peice of masking tape or something to mark it if you have to.
4. Since your not reusing the distributor it doesnt do any good to mark the body of the distributor to somewhere on the engine (where the hold down bolt is, to the valve cover, etc). Try to find a specific part or mark (casting mark, etc) on the body of both distributors then mark the car for that (I haven't looked at the VG distributor that much so I cant really help you out too much with that part).
Then remove the distributor and install the new one. Remember the teeth on the distributor will want to twist the shaft as you install it, so the rotor will spin. Normally they spin about 3/8th of a rotation, IIRC. It might take a few tries, but just make sure the rotor lines up with the reference point you made, along with the actual distributor housing. Check and make any adjustments to the timing after everything is hooked up again.
