How much power do the stock amps put on in the front? What is the largest size speaker you can fit in the doors with out too much hassel? And links to someone with instructions? Im looking at getting a component system and putting either 5 1/4 or 6.5 inch subs in the door and the tweeters up where the mirror is.
Thanks
RB

Do a search on this forum for BOSE. Aftermarket speakers will not work with the stock BOSE amps.... most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm, while BOSE amps are designed for 1 ohm speakers. I believe each amp puts out 50 watts peak. The ussually 5 1/4 work best with stock front enclosures....

So I gotta buy a new 4 channel amp (might as well because I will be replacing the rear speakrs as well). Hell, I think Ill just take my car into the local stero shop and have them put the stuff in then and run new wire. This is some poop. Maybe I will try myself. I don't know. I did search btw, but I got so much crap that wasn't related to my search I decied to post. If I did get new speakers, what would I need to replace? Would I need to run any new wires? Or mess with my head unit? Currently it has a wiring harness from crutchfield to allow me to use the stock amps. Would this have to go as well?
Thanks
RB

This is what I did:I wanted to be able to have my subs wired into my system, but i found out that the bose system was 1 ohm. I decided that i would just replace the bose system because i already had a cd deck laying around....an Aiawa 40x4 deck. Replaced the speakers with pioneers and 2 pioneer 400w 12" subs. I had a shop do all of the wiring because at the time i did not know too much about wiring aftermarket equipment. So anyway, if you want to replace speakers or the head unit, you will HAVE to replace everything to accomodate a 4 ohm system.
