Hi,

I have a 91 auto GXE, i'm getting a misfire when the car is idling. I bought the car in November and the previous owner told me he had replaced the plugs that week.

I took it to the garage they said it was the ignition coil and plug wires, so i replaced both. But still have the same problem.

Wondering if there is anything i can do to figure what the problem is or anything else i should try to replace (this gets expensive just replacing parts that don't need to be though).

As well i've notcied over the last week that my power steering fluid seems to be disappearing. I don't think its leaking onto the ground, but it gets low in the reservoir and i start to get noise when turning. any ideas?

1) Misfire. It could be a many things. But since your mechanic misdiagnoised the problem, your best chance would be to take it back and have them properly repair the car. Why should you have to pay for parts that replaced when it didn't solve the problem? Could be the dist cap, vacuum leak, EGR stuck open, PCV clogged, a bad plug, carbon buildup, bad gas and so on....

Power steering. It must be going somewhere. Follow the lines and see if there is a leak. Then get under the car and see if the leak is at the power steering pump.
