Greetings Max lovers, Does the 1992 maxima GXE have a Tranmission Filter?
If transmission is slipping will it help to change the filter?

The filter is not accessible. If the filter is the same as the SE then you probably dont have to change it anyway, since its a strainer and not a cotton filter.

So what you need to do is change the fluid, use dex/Merc III. Change the fluid a few times, since you only get out about half each time you drain it out. Drive the car for a while (or even a week) between changes to let the new stuff fully circulate and eat at some of the varnish deposits.

If you tranny doesnt smooth out, then you may need a new throttle positioning sensor. Another problem might be broken nylon bushings that are located at both ends of the shift cable.

I think I'm going to copy this response so that I dont have to type it each time.

Well that is a new one. Nylon shift cable bushing making the trans slip.
Do change the fluid, but it might require a band tightening. or a rebuild.
