trunk won't open
the trunk release/fuel filler door cable broke several months ago and I've been using the key to open the trunk. To get gas i've had to pull the actuator in the trunk. Now the lock won't turn, i can see part of a spring hanging below the lock. I'm wondering how in the hell can i open the trunk and fix it.
Yep, that worked. I just opened the armrest and pushed the cardboard out of the way. Then i wiggled the black lever with a golf club a few times. The lock mechanism got turned around and would not release. I used a ton of lithium grease and now it works.
trunk release from inside?
Hi,
92 se trunk won't open, trunk popper seems to be working, key is turning, mechanism seems to be jammed (turned around?).
I can get at it through the back armrest, see all mechanisms but I dont know if I should be trying to push the little lever (mounted on the car- not the trunk) up, or down, or which way. Do I even have the right little release lever? Rather not take out seat and crawl in. poking it, pushing it hasnt released it yet...
Thanks

huhu, i was working on my tranny and quit for the day, i put everything including the batery in the trunk for the night only to remember that the trunk lock was broken. nice and smart huh?
I don't know what you guys are talking about with levers and all, you mean the lock lever so you have to use the key?
The first topic I ever posted on here was this same one, i ended up taking out the back seat, taking off the grey liner thing from the trunk lid and then pulling on the bar that connects to the servo that the door button uses. It took some force, but once I got it open it's worked fine ever since.
