Door Attach Thingies

O.K., I do not know the correct name for these, but they are the fasteners that attach the door panel to the metal part of the door. They are little plastic inserts and two are blue (the two on the upper left corner). Well, my key broke off in my driver's side door and I wanted to pull the door panel away to get a better look. I followed Craig Brace's instructions (these are very good and detailed I might add!) on this and all went well until I pulled the door panel off. The plastic end on the blue ones broke and I had to put a white one in it's place, but it does not look quite right.

Anyone know where I could get these, or what they are called so I know what to ask for. They can't be more then a few bucks for a set I would think.

Thanks.

Boneyard or Dealer. You might take one with you and look at Advance Auto or Autozone. They have some assortments of little clips and something might be close enough to work.

Napa has a catalogue of these plastic fasteners. Take the old ones in there and match them up.

I try to avoid going to the dealer if a fellow Maxima enthusiast had some extra, but now it looks like the dealer it is!

From this pic it looks like the top part of the panel isnt sitting in the top right.

You're right! This was also something I was going to ask. Even if the door panel clips are installed, the top part still seems to not be sitting right. Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

the top has to slide down behind the door steel (by the window) kionda hard to explain.

The top fo the door panel wraps around the steel door at the top.

Put your window down and it is alot easier to get into place.

Thanks for the explanation! All fixed, I did not realize the lip of the panel had to go over the door. All makes sense now and the new panel clips from Napa work! Thanks again!!!
