Plug under seat?

Now I know about the 2 male ended plugs under the driver seat. I think 1 is for a AT car and the other if for power seats. But i dont have power seats and on the bottom of my seat there is a female end were one of the plugs fit into. After the plug the wire goes toward the middle of the car. The passenger seat doesnt have the plug. I plugged it in for the hell of it but thats all i have done. Anyone know what its for?

Something about a weight sensor so the computer knows when someones sitting in the driver seat? I'm not sure if that's correct...maybe if you're driving and fall out of your car it'll stop or something?

like you said, it's for power seats
even if your car doesn't come with power seats, it's still wired for them
but you have manual seats so it doesnt' have the motors and tracks for power operation

There is no sensor to tell if there is anyone in the drivers seat. There is a sensor for the lapbelt to see if it's buckled or not.

So the sensor thats only on the driver seat is for the lapbelt? What's the point of that?

to tell if the driver has his/her seatbelt buckled
it's a good reminder since auto shoulder belts without lap belts can cause decapitation

there is always someone in the drivers seat when the car is in motion so it knows to look for that sensor

But it's not like the seatbelt "idiot" light goes off when the lapbelt isn't being used...so what does that sensor "report" to?

turn the car on and dont buckle your seatbelt, it'll beep at you for 6 seconds while the seatbelt light is on

turn the car on with it buckled, the seatbelt light will be on for 6 seconds but no beep

light will also flash if the 'shoulder anchor' is not at rear lock position (auto belts all the way down the track)

light will stay on solid if shoulder belt is unbuckled
