balljoint stud

how hard is it to remove a balljoint stud off the control arm? cuz one of my 3 balljoint nuts got frozen. When I tampered it out....sh*t, that thing rounded itself out. Great, now I am gonna get a nut splitter to take care of it. However, that stupid nut...argh just like most other suspension nuts got a washer built into it. What makes it worst is that the washer has threads in it. So even after I splitted the darn thing, let's just say what if that bad boy still refused to corporate. I might have cut off the entire stud off. So how hard is it to get that stud off and change it to a new one? Is it as easy as changing a lug stud? Any better advices other than what I had mentioned above, such as split that darn thing...if it hangs, just fly the car over a twisty and hopefully that thing will come off? j.k, any ideas?

That stud is not part of the control arm its part of a plate that has all three studs incoperated into it once u cut/drill that one out the plate will come loose and then ur gunna need a new plate there prolly a few bucks from the dealer , u could try the yard but chances are u may get another stuck nut.
